Faculty of Electrical Engineering

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering offers optimised programs designed to equip students with clearly defined knowledge, understanding, skills, and other attributes upon successful completion. Each program provides comprehensive details regarding its teaching and learning methodologies, assessment criteria, and subsequent career opportunities, ensuring alignment with relevant qualification frameworks. The faculty comprises two distinct departments: Electrical & Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, both dedicated to producing highly skilled graduates in their respective fields.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is a dynamic and forward-looking academic unit within the Institute of Technology at HU. It is dedicated to producing highly skilled professionals equipped to drive technological innovation and contribute to national development in the fields of electrical, computer, and biomedical engineering.

The Faculty consists of two departments:

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering

Academic programs offered by the faculty are designed following a modular and outcomes-based approach. Each program clearly outlines the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies students are expected to acquire upon successful completion. The curriculum integrates theory with hands-on learning through modern laboratories, project-based instruction, and strong emphasis on problem-solving and innovation.

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (established in 2005 G.C) strives for national and international excellence in teaching, research, community services and industry engagement. We are committed to producing technically proficient graduates and advancing the state-of-the-art in Electrical and Computer Engineering through impactful research and robust industry partnerships, thereby enriching our educational programs. The time duration to complete under graduate program is 5 years and 2 years for postgraduate program. Electrical and Computer Engineering Department contains four focus areas (Streams) as an undergraduate program. These four focus areas are: -

Department of Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering (Established in 2017G.C) department aspires to create a world-class educational training, research, community researches, university industry linkage and service provision center in Biomedical Engineering. It produces technically competent graduates and apply knowledge in modern Biomedical application domains. The core values are academic excellence, skill, and research-based transformational learning. Biomedical Engineering is an interdisciplinary subject that is the application of the knowledge of physical, chemical, mathematical, and computational science and engineering principles on the field of medicine and health. Generally, Biomedical Engineering aims at the design, construction, innovation, invention, maintenance, and management of medical and rehabilitation equipment.
